Can the driver give me change?
Drivers do not carry cash and are unable to give passengers change.
Can you pay with a credit card on the buses?
Metro does not accept credit cards on the bus or at the Metro Centre. Bus fare must be paid with exact change, tokens, or valid bus passes.
Can I bring an animal on board the bus?
Service animals are welcome aboard River Valley Metro buses. Other animals are allowed on board if they are contained in an animal carrier. Leashes are not considered a carrier.
Do I need to make a reservation to ride the bus to Midway?
Reservations are not required to ride River Valley Metro. It is best to arrive 5 -10 minutes prior to bus departure. Also please be at the bus stop at the departure, not waiting inside or in your vehicle.
Do children ride free on Metro?
Children age 5 and under ride free.
Do senior citizens ride free on Metro?
No, senior citizens do not ride free on Metro. Once they reach age 65 they can receive reduced price fare. They may purchase an Elderly Pass for $15.00/month or can pay half fare of $.50 during non-peak hours.

How do I get a Circuit Breaker Card?
Benefit Access Card, previously known at Circuit Breaker, it a benefit offered by the State of Illinois. Rider must apply for this card through the State of Illinois. Once you have been approved, you contact Metro to receive your card. For more information click here.
Are the Midway buses wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all River Valley Metro buses are wheelchair accessible.
Does it cost to park my car when I take the Midway bus?
No it is free to park your car at the Bourbonnais and Manteno Metro Centres. In Bourbonnais, please park your car in the southeast corner of the lot. Parking spaces are striped with blue paint. In Manteno, the lot is located north of the transfer station. Cars can be parked as long as needed.
I am going to be 10 minutes late; can you hold the Midway bus for me?
Unfortunately, the buses run on a timed schedule. It is not possible to hold the bus past the departure time,without affecting other passengers later in the day.

To request a change to a bus stop or add one on an existing route, please complete the Bus Stop Change Request.
Where can I get on and off the bus?
For passenger safety, passengers are allowed to get on and off the bus only at designated bus stops.

When are the buses free?
River Valley Metro operates their traditional fixed route buses free of charge in extreme weather conditions. When windchill is below zero or heat index is above 100 degrees’ passengers can ride as long as they want free of charge.
I left something on the bus, what do I do?
As soon as you notice your missing item, please call 815-937-4287. Metro keeps lost items for 30 days. Perishable items will be disposed of immediately.
