Midway Airport

River Valley Metro has a shuttle that services Midway Airport. And, the fare is only $2 each way! Use this shuttle for your travel needs to the airport and downtown Chicago. With the bus stop just outside Door 6 at baggage claim it is easy access to the airport and is a short walk to the CTA bus and train station.  Reservations are not required to take the shuttle.

Road construction and weather sometimes cause unavoidable traffic back-ups on the interstate highways and on Cicero. Whenever possible, we detour our Midway buses around these back-ups, but we can still get behind schedule. When this happens, please call our Dispatch office to get an expected arrival time for your bus. The number is 815-937-4287.

Access to our Midway shuttle from the airport is very quick and easy. Click HERE to view a video that explains what to look for at Midway Airport. If the video does not display in your browser, click HERE to view the video on Facebook.

Be sure to plan your arrival at Midway Airport to allow ample time for deboarding the plane and claiming any luggage. The Midway bus runs on a tight schedule and we are unable to hold a bus for you without effecting future trips that day, disrupting other passenger’s plans. Thank you for understanding.

Via Chicago Transit Authority (CTA): You can take the CTA from Midway to O’Hare with one transfer downtown. It is the most economical way to transport between the two airports, but be sure to allow up to two hours for the trip.

Midway to O’Hare

  • Board the Orange Line at the Midway Station
  • Get off at Clark/Lake Station and transfer to the Blue Line (free of charge)
  • Board the Blue Line to the O’Hare Station in terminal 2

O’Hare to Midway

  • Board the Blue Line at the lower level of Terminal 2 at O’Hare Airport
  • Get off at the Clark/Lake Station and transfer to the Orange Line (free of charge)
  • Board the Orange Line to the Midway Station.
  • Exit the Orange Line Station, and take the escalator or stairs to the walkway over the street. Follow walk way around to the airport. Take the escalator down 1 level to baggage claim. Use doorway 6LL through hourly parking to the Regional Buses stop.

Taxi

Taking a taxi from O’Hare to Midway is another convenient way to travel between the two airports. Rates will vary depending on the time of day, weather and cab service. You may also use the “Shared Ride” service if you have multiple parties available for the trip. Shared ride fares from O’Hare to Midway are $37 per person. Regional buses are on South Kilpatrick Ave. on the east side of the airport.
